There are many natural attractions to visit in West Wales. The beautiful Pembrokeshire coastal paths offer great walking opportunities. Boat trips to outlying islands run regularly during the summer months and visitors can explore the wildlife on Skomer Island and roam Caldey Island. The latter is home to an order of Cistercian Monks who have lived on the island since the 1920’s, although monks have been resident on Caldey since the 6th century. You’ll find a tea room on the island and a gift shop selling Caldey perfume handmade by the monks themselves.

Laugharne is more famously remembered as the home of acclaimed Welsh writer, Dylan Thomas, and is said to have inspired one of his most famous works, Under Milk Wood. His former home, The Boat House and his writing shed are open to the public during peak season and are very popular with visitors. Laugharne Castle is another local attraction which is worth a visit and you’ll also find plenty of restaurants, shops and tea rooms in the town for much needed refreshment after all your sightseeing.

The beaches of West Wales are world renowned. Because beautiful beaches are in such large supply, they are busy during summer months but rarely overcrowded. Tenby is a legendary seaside resort and the breathtaking Gower coastline is favoured by surfers. Pendine Sands, Newgale and Druidstone Haven are all stunning expansive beaches which offer a blissful break for all.
